In the second quarter of 2022, the top five music and podcasts apps on the Android platform in the Netherlands displayed diverse performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts experienced a relatively stable download rate throughout Q2, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 6.6K to 7.9K. The app maintained a high level of user engagement, with weekly active users consistently around 2.4M.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts saw weekly downloads ranging from 4.3K to 5.3K. The app's weekly active users showed some fluctuation, peaking at 174.5K in late April before settling around 155K by the end of June.

Grand Prix Radio had notable spikes in downloads, particularly in early April with 11.4K downloads. However, the app experienced lower download rates in the following weeks, averaging around 3.6K to 5.0K.

Podimo - Podcasts & Audiobooks showed a significant rise in weekly revenue, starting from $4 in mid-April and peaking at $194 in early June. Weekly downloads saw a downward trend, starting strong at 7.9K in early April but decreasing to approximately 1.3K by the end of June. Nonetheless, the app's weekly active users steadily increased from 3.1K in April to 5.7K by the end of the quarter.

SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs demonstrated a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $939 in the last week of June. Weekly downloads remained stable, mostly fluctuating between 2.3K and 3.3K. The app also enjoyed a steady increase in weekly active users, reaching around 75.5K by late May.
